Aline Porto is a Partner at BanyanGlobal. For more than 15 years, Aline has helped family firms deal with a wide range of challenges in governance, business strategy, organizational strategy, and leadership development for family members and for family business executives. She also has contributed to the design and implementation of non-profit programs supported by family-owned businesses. Currently, Aline is the head of Banyan’s Brazil practice. She is also the co-chair of the Family Businesses Platform at Insper, one of Brazil’s most renowned universities. Aline came to Banyan after working with the Monitor Group. As a Partner at Monitor, she co-led the creation and development of the firm’s family-owned business practice in Brazil. Her work at Monitor led Aline to turn to the non-profit sector after she left the firm. She became the Director of Education at the Ayrton Senna Foundation, one of the major NGOs in Brazil. This exposure reinforced Aline’s interest in working with the next generations in family business. When she is not working with families, Aline translates her passion for ideas and curiosity about people into opportunities for exploring archetypal narratives and for inventing fresh perspectives. She travels yearly to new geographies to engage with unusual and diverse cultures in the hopes of creating a common language that can transcend national borders and individual differences. Aline got her BS in production engineering at Universidade Federal de São Carlos, Brazil, and her MBA at INSEAD in France. Portuguese is her native language; she is fluent in English and has a working knowledge of Spanish.
