Ana Resende is a Principal at BanyanGlobal, specializing in strategy, operations, and human resources. She has deep operational and board experience, having served in key leadership positions at a large global business and as a board member of several companies. Over the course of her consulting career, Ana has led engagements for family and non-family businesses in a range of industries, including banking, insurance, media, telecom, private equity, raw materials, and consumer products.
One of her main interests is people development. Ana has worked with many individuals, advising and coaching them regarding their careers, life choices, skills and individual development plans. She has also developed and implemented HR strategies, with a special focus on talent development, in several of the organizations she has worked for.
Ana comes to Banyan after launching two successful start-ups in the agricultural sector for a billion-dollar multinational firm, where she was an executive leader in the areas of strategy, marketing, and finance for seven years. Prior to that, she worked as a strategy consultant and human resources lead for Value Partners, a spin-off of McKinsey & Company in Latin America. She also worked in operations for a mining company, where she was responsible for teams of 150 people in Minas Gerais.
Ana holds a mechanical engineering degree from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais in Brazil, an MBA from INSEAD in France, and a post-graduation from Fundação Getúlio Vargas in human resources. She is fluent in English and Portuguese and has a working knowledge of French and Italian.
Ana dedicates her free time to volunteer work and is always interested in learning and traveling to new locations, meeting people, and advocating for women and minorities. She lives in São Paulo, Brazil.
